This advisory has been issued by NHRC with the aim of curbing the suicides in jails. Recently, in one of its reports, NHRC had found that most of the unnatural deaths of prisoners in jails are due to suicide. This advisory has been issued by NHRC Chairman Justice Arun Mishra to reduce suicide attempts by prisoners in judicial custody.
