Speaker 1: Today we're going to be looking at the best gooseneck options for our 2014 Ram 2500.While all of these will work with your Ram 2500 to allow you to haul a gooseneck trailer, there are some key differences that'll set them apart. The biggest difference is going to be their towing capacities. Both our B&W and our Curt are going to have a max towing limit of 30,000 pounds and a max vertical load limit of 7,500 pounds, while our Draw-Tite's going to be a little bit less with a maximum towing capacity of 20,000 pounds and a maximum vertical load limit of 5,000 pounds. It is always recommended to check your vehicle owner's manual to make sure it's not going to exceed any of its towing or load limit capacities.Now, what's really nice about the way all of these goosenecks install on our Ram 2500 is that there's no additional rail kit required. Most other vehicles require this additional rail kit, whereas our Ram 2500 has an existing rail system already included in the vehicle where these will just bolt right up to it using the hardware provided. Now, you will still need to drill your holes for your safety chains and ball, but there'll be no frame drilling which saves a lot of time. The only small difference is our B&W here does have an additional handle that will need to be installed; however, it's not a much larger step over these two.Another difference between them is how the balls connect. On our Curt here and on our Draw-Tite, they both have an integrated release mechanism. This will allow them to slide out and then you can store them in your vehicle, while our B&W releases using the handle on the side. When the handle is pulled out and locked into the release position, the ball can be then taken out, and rather than storing it in your vehicle, you can just flip it over and it slides down into place, so there's no way you're going to lose this ball.It's held in by a pin that slides through the entirety of the ball keeping it locked and secure, and it lines every time whether it's in the upright or downright position. Now, there is one note with the B&W. When it's in its storage position, if your vehicle has a track bar underneath that goes from your axle to your frame, it may come in contact with the ball. So, you do want to verify your suspension setup before storing it and taking off with your vehicle.After you store the balls on your Curt and your Draw-Tite, there is a rubber cap included for both that'll seal up the opening so you can use your truck bed normally without worrying about any of your items in the back falling through the hole. This will also keep out any dirt, grime, and moisture from mucking up the holes here. Now, you do have to make sure that when you're switching from one to the other that you store it in a position where you know you're going to find it again. So, there's a little bit of tracking you're going to have to do with your items with the Curt and the Draw-Tite.When we talk about overall quality, the B&W is going to be a step above the rest. The square hole on the gooseneck here is going to hold your ball in the most secure, giving you the best transfer from your truck to your trailer. It's going to have the least amount of rattle, and it's just going to fit together very nicely.Your Draw-Tite here would come in next as it's got a nice sturdy ball in there. It does have a little bit more play than our B&W, and it's not quite as thick around our collar, which also correlates with lower capacities, but it's still sturdier here than our Curt. The Curt's ball rotates around. It has a lot of slop in it, which could easily cause more rattling and noise when you're hauling your trailer, and may cause a little bit of jarring when starting and stopping.On another note here, I really like the machine quality of this ball. This is one solid piece. You can see the machine lines in it, very well made, very durable, and an added benefit of the B&W gooseneck is the ability to use the B&W Companion Hitch Adapter.
