In 2022, the Museum celebrated the opening of its major exhibition "Western Edge: The Roots and Reverberations of Los Angeles Country-Rock," presented by City National Bank, with a concert featuring an all-star lineup. For the first time, that concert is available to stream. In this clip, Chris Hillman (the Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers, Desert Rose Band) and Richie Furay (Buffalo Springfield, Poco) perform their song “Fallin’ in Love" (Souther-Hillman-Furay Band) alongside Furay's daughter Jesse Furay Lynch. After the original Byrds regrouped for their last album, Asylum Records president David Geffen suggested a super-group of Chris Hillman, JD Souther, and Richie Furay. Furay joined out of frustration that Poco had never scored a Top Ten hit. They all wanted to come to the forefront. The Souther-Hillman-Furay Band came together in 1973 and released their first album the following year. It reached #11 on the LP chart. The group broke up in 1975 after their second album. Made possible in part by exhibit travel partner American Airlines. Watch the full concert and visit the exhibit, open now through September 1, 2025: https://www.countrymusichalloffame.or...
