ScotRail are currently in the process of ordering new EMU and BEMU trains to replace the 318, 320 and some 156 from 2030 onwards. Additional new electric and bi-mode units will likely be ordered to replace all of ScotRail existing train fleet except the 380 and 385. While not officially confirmed ScotRail may be receiving the remaining class 222 Meridian from East Midlands Railway that Lumo will not be using once these are repalced by new class 810 units. The 222 would be used to replace the Inter7city class 43+Mk3 trains. Since 2015 ScotRail have operated units which have now left the operator and have been replaced this included diesel train classes of additional class 156, class 158 and class 170 which were displaced to other operators such as Northern and Southern once more routes were electrified. Electric train classes of class 314, class 365 Networker Express. Locomotive hauled services between Edinburgh and Fife on peak time services of class 68 hauling Mark 2 carriages. The train fleet information is correct as possible as of October 2025 and future train fleet dates are based for the planned introduction for passenger services, with fleet details potentially being amended due to order for new trains not yet being placed. Past Train Fleet is based on when the current ScotRail franchise format has been in operation since 2015, this included both the current government operated ScotRail and the previous Abellio operated ScotRail. #ScotRail #Train #RollingStock
