#surfing #wavepark #surfsession Hello guys, my name is Jay I have been surfing at the wave park in Korea every summer for the past three years, I noticed that more and more people from outside of Korea are visiting the wave park, I wanted to share some tips? or info for you to prepare to maximize your surf session at the wave park as we watch me surfing lol I hope you enjoy this video. First, this was filmed in the night session last month, one of the special events they are hosting on the weekends. I hired a drone photographer in-house, paid 40000won for an hour and I am very happy about how it turned out. I got more than 20 pieces of footage in total in 4K - I think it is worth it. Isn’t it so beautiful to surf at night? night surfing is one of the perks of surfing at the wave park, you don’t have to worry about getting hot or tanned - especially in the summer and the water looks so clear! 1:09 Basic Info Basically, you pay per session, one session is one hour, 25 people max, and you normally get 10-15 waves, 20+ waves in one session if not crowded. 1:29 Price Price-wise, there are little bit of price difference between the types of waves , I assume more electricity or power is required to make bigger waves? haha anyway price for one session ranges from about $ 50-70, without any discounts; if you book two sessions at once, in the same day, you get discounts. \ 1:57 Timetable The timetable and opening hours changes pretty frequently so you gotta check their website or Instagram for the up-to-date timetable. There are monthly passes where you can surf two sessions a day for a month at a discounted price. for the details, please check the website as well. 2:23 Waves there are many types of sessions such as beginner, intermediate, and advanced - M1 M2 are considered beginner wave M2 M3 M4 are intermediate M4 T1 T2 are advanced I don’t know what M and T stands for lol for longboarding, beginner or intermediate waves are fine short boarders prefer bigger advanced waves. There are left and rights that you can choose from, I surfed left in this video, but at the same time, there are people on the right side surfing. so it happens simultaneously on both sides. Usually right side is 1.5x more crowded. I guess more regulars than goofy in Korea or worldwide :) 3:30 Catching Waves This night session I surfed M2 and M3 The beginning part of the video is with the M2 wave, where I have my hair down 0:27 M2 - there are 20-25 waves for one set and breaks in between. I start paddling at 2.5 and catch waves around 3.5 - 4 The bigger the wave the lower number you start paddling Once you start paddling, you will feel the water or the machine pulling you back you gotta paddle harder to get over the pull, then you should be able to catch the wave no problem. if you take off too late, there are high chance of you nosediving and the board may hit the concrete wall right next to you, which is heartbreaking - so be very careful 4:54 M3 there are 15-20 waves for each set for M3 For M3, I start paddling 2 and catch waves around 3 - 3.5 there are a very minimal difference between M1, M2 and M3 in terms of power of the wave but many people including me, say that there is a huge difference between M3 and M4 5:27 M4 M4 is more likely advanced waves in my opinion 7-9 waves in one set because of the scarcity of the wave in the set, if you miss or waste one wave; it is critical - many people lose their turn, or the general flow is ruined in that set. I noticed it stresses many people out - lol So I highly recommend to avoid M4 if that is your first session at the wave park.
