The upper extremity involvement in cerebral palsy interferes with the proper use of the hand and it is most challenging for therapists and surgeons to deal with it. In the upper extremity, the CP child can have problems in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and fingers. In all these problems hand disability causes a lot of trouble to the child in doing their ADL & academic performance. Affected hands in cerebral palsy have manifold issues like weakness, spasticity, contracture & sensory problems. Good therapy is required for the management of sensory problems and functional activity. Persisting spasticity and contracture will require surgical intervention.
