This video was made for a family member. Trains aren't really my thing. Ropley station is one of four stations on the Watercress Line in Hampshire, UK. This is where all the engine repairs are done and you can watch this being done from the viewing gallery which overlooks the workshops. Recently, Ropley station has acquired and restored a footbridge from Kings Cross station, London which dates back to 1892 and also appeared in the Harry Potter films. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-... On this day they were having a pay and play day where you can pay to learn how to operate a steam engine. The engine of choice for that day was a small tank engine that has been painted up to look like Thomas. Built in the 1940's, it was originally used for moving coal. The Watercress Line sometimes hold a special Thomas the Tank Engine week but on this occasion the engine wasn't being used for this purpose so the face wasn't in use. Much to our disappointment.
