Solo travel in Bali isn't always sunrise yoga and perfect beaches. Sometimes you get sick. Sometimes you're alone and just need a hug. This is what that looks like. I got hit with Bali belly the day of a local temple ceremony I'd been invited to. No tourists, just me trying to be respectful while feeling dreadful. The next morning, I go to the local market to find breakfast navigating breakfast mostly in Indonesian. But here's the thing: learning some Bahasa Indonesia opens doors. From ordering food at markets to spontaneous conversations with rice farmers, language turns you from tourist to participant. This video isn't a tutorial. It's just what happened over two days - the rough parts and the moments that made them worth it. Oh! And I visit a unique temple that had a surprising affect on me. I travel through Bali where tourists often don't. Sometimes I'm the only foreigner in the village. I eat at local warungs, visit off-the-map beaches, and offer alternative perspectives on well-known destinations.
