The Grand Finale of the Shinobi Battle Royale rematch was about to begin as Gessen's Yumi faces Hanzo's Asuka one more time. Both leaders have gotten stronger since the last time they fought. Asuka became stronger thanks to training with Homura, which has Yumi believe that evil can take many forms, and also let Asuka know about how much Homura means to her. Yumi's thoughts on good and evil shinobi have changed since they last fought, but this time, she simply rematches Asuka as shinobi! ---------- For the final main Gessen mission of 5-05, Yumi must fight and defeat Asuka in the dark meadows. Don't get too reckless here, though, because like the final Hanzo mission, this fight is a two-parter. ---------- After beating Asuka once, Yumi claims to be the victor, but Asuka hasn't given up, yet! She's determined to overcome any obstacles and keep up with anyone that's stronger than her! She's not only fighting for her own sake, but as the granddaughter of Hanzo, himself! Yumi is likewise fighting as the granddaughter of Kurokage. So they decide to face each other to their absolute limits! ---------- This second half of Mission 5-05 completely heals Asuka, but if you already transformed as Yumi, you'll stay that way. Yumi's Ultimate Secret Ninja Art is White Widow. She summons a giant ice spider that creates a vicious blizzard tornado! Beating Asuka from this point will not have Yumi do her full victory pose. She'll just stand there. Almost sad... ---------- Yumi defeats Asuka, and Gessen once and for all claims their victory against Hanzo Academy in the very first battle royale of Good Vs. Good. It appears that Yumi has now fully understood Asuka's friendship with Homura, and now she would like to be friends with Asuka, as well. However, this also means that she, too, has went against her grandfather's dream, but nonetheless, she will still keep his love for her in her heart. And then, at the end of her speech, it turned out that her grandfather has been dead this entire time... ---------- And so, the reason why Kurokage had so many visual novel segments in this story, is because he has already passed away before the events of the story even began, unlike at the end of the Hanzo story, where he appeared in the last second to keep Yumi from killing Asuka. All of the VN scenes Kurokage narrated were him looking back at his life before he passed, watching over his granddaughters from above as he hoped for them to figure out that his "End All Evil" dream that they were following was no longer in his interests. He really regrets leading his girls down that path, and he was too late to change their minds. But, after all of the battles the Gessen girls faced, Kurokage sees that they were able to overcome the darkness by themselves without his guidance. This is what he wanted this entire time, so now he could truly embrace Heaven and Rest In Peace... Here's a bonus. The game doesn't truly show him, but this is what Kurokage looks like: https://imgur.com/HNtgove ---------- Yumi returns to her dear allies to talk about their victory. They chose not to burn down Hanzo Academy, for they now saw their elites as new friends and rivals. With their victories claimed and their dignity fully restored, it was time to do what they were trying to at the very beginning of their story... and visit Kurokage's grave... They cleaned and decorated the grave with warm smiles, finally got to offer him strawberry daifuku, and then prayed to him to tell him of their growth as shinobi and as his granddaughters. They suddenly heard a familiar voice. Was it Wang Pai? Actually no, it was Hanzo, the legendary shinobi and old pervert that ruined the Gessen Girls' first graveyard visit. Then another new light became clear... Wang Pai was actually Hanzo all along! Kurokage really wanted someone he could trust to look out for the the girls in his absence. So Hanzo became Wang Pai to teach at Gessen. Hanzo also had a bit of fun with this, too. Groping the girls and stealing their food was meant to provoke them to face Asuka's team, with no worries as to what could happen to them from it. Also, an alternate reading for "Wang Pai" is "Ouhai" which rhymes with "Oppai", which just so happens to translate to... "large breasts"... That kinda ruined the Gessen elites' newfound respect towards Hanzo, a bit. Nonetheless, Hanzo is just as proud of the Gessen Girls' growth as Kurokage would be (and is), and brought sushi to them to celebrate Kurokage's life and their new Path of the Shinobi, and as Spring begins, Yumi looks to the sky to thank her grandfather for all that he's done, and bids farewell to him one last time... ---------- Thus ends the Gessen storyline of Shinovi Versus, and I'm only about halfway through this whole game, now! After I go through each Gessen Girls' Shinobi Heart stories, the gloves come off as I will no longer be dealing with Good Shinobi. Thanks for watching so far and stay tuned!
