Checking Original Shaft With Worn Shaft Replaced For Run Out And Vibration

Caution: If you chose to duplicate this set up you do so at your own risk! A spinning shaft can come loose if not properly mounted and could cause injury or death! In this video I have placed the original shaft off of my Bolens Lawn Mower Deck with the repaired yoke back in the lathe after replacing the piece of rectangular shaft that was worn at the slip yoke end with a new piece. The original shaft was worn approximately .010" to .015" where it slide inside the slip yoke so replacing the shaft should make the slip yoke section a little tighter fit. I check the shaft for run out at the yoke collar by turning it b hand and also spin the driveshaft to check for vibration. Thanks for watching.
