BIG WATER, COWBOYS & MONKEYS on the REVENTAZON | Kayaking in COSTA RICA EP2

Continuing our trip through the Jungle of Costa Rica, we paddled another all time classic, the Reventazon. Sadly this river has been damed and what used to be endless kilometers of world class whitewater is now 5 huge lakes. A small 2km stretch of quality whitewater remains, but apparently it is only a small taste of what this river used to be. The local kayakers use these rapids as a race section for whitewater events! The biggest rapid, is called Cacique, named after the local alcoholic beverage which we got to try out in a bar at the takeout to celebrate Eggstream's 4 year anniversary. We also got to experienced a Latin Rodeo event, visited a banana plantation and Cahuita National Park near the border with Panama, famous for it's numerous animals and biodiversity.
