Tomato chutney | South Indian Style Tomato chutney Ingredients Oil - 1 Tablespoon Black gram / Urad dal - 1/2 Teaspoon Asafoetida / Hing - A pinch Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon Tomato / Tamatar - 3 to 4 Chopped Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful Salt - As per taste Red chilli powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1 Teaspoon Roasted cumin seeds powder / Jeera powder - 1 Teaspoon Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1 & 1/2 Teaspoons Fenugreek seeds powder / Methi dana powder - 1 Teaspoon (optional) Jaggery / Gud - 1 Teaspoon FOR PREPARING TADKA : Oil - 1 Tablespoon Mustard seeds / Rai - 1 Teaspoon Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - A pinch Asafoetida / Hing - A pinch Dry red chilli / Sukhi lal mirch - 1 to 2 (optional) Curry leaves / Curry patta - A few Instructions 1. Heat oil in a pan. Add black gram, asafoetida, turmeric powder, and tomato. Mix well. 2. Then add coriander leaves. Mix well. Saute it for 1 minute on medium flame. 3. Now add salt, red chilli powder, roasted cumin seeds powder, coriander powder, and fenugreek seeds powder. Mix well. 4. Add jaggery. Mix well and saute it for 1 minute on medium flame. Once done, turn off the flame and let it cool down. 5. Then transfer it to a grinding jar. Grind it for 30 to 40 seconds. Transfer it to a serving bowl. 6. Heat oil in a tadka pan. Add mustard seeds, turmeric powder, asafoetida, dry red chilli, and curry leaves. 7. Now pour the tadka into the prepared chutney. 8.
