His story spans from being an antagonist to eventually becoming a key ally in the fight against the Dark One. Logain Ablar was originally a man from Andor, living a normal life until he discovered his ability to channel One Power (the magical force of the world). As a male channeler, Logain quickly gained a reputation for his remarkable strength in the Power. He became highly confident in his abilities and even believed himself to be the Dragon Reborn, the prophesied savior of the world, a role that Rand al'Thor was destined to fill. However, due to the dangerous history of male channelers being corrupted by the Dark One, the Aes Sedai (the organization of female channelers) saw Logain as a major threat. As a result, they sought to capture him. Logain’s rise to power drew the attention of the Aes Sedai, who believed his strength posed a serious danger. He was eventually captured and imprisoned in Tar Valon, the heart of Aes Sedai power. Although Logain was not completely driven mad by his imprisonment, his spirit was broken, and he was kept under strict surveillance. Despite being locked away, Logain never gave up on his resolve to regain control of his powers. In The Dragon Reborn (Book 3), Rand al'Thor, who was emerging as the true Dragon Reborn, released Logain from captivity, recognizing the potential value of a powerful male channeler. Rand’s decision to free Logain was based on the need to unite all forces to fight against the Dark One, including male channelers.
