تسببت حرب الخامس عشر من أبريل بين القوات المسلحة السودانية والدعم السريع في مقتل ما يزيد عن ١٢ الف من الابرياء في السودان ونزوح ما يزيد عن ستة مليون مواطن وتهجيرهم قسريا من منازلهم التي تحولت الى اهداف عسكرية وساحات للنهب والاقتتال. واذ تمر الذكرى الخامسة لثورة ديسمبر المجيدة ثقيلة على صدور المواطنيين السودانيين، في تضاد تام مع اهدافها الطامحة في الكرامة، المنادية بالحرية والسلام والعدالة، و الحرب تتفاقم في شهرها التاسع وتتسع رقعتها يوما بعد يوم لتهدد كل الحواضر والارياف السودانية. مدينة ود مدني، حاضرة ولاية الجزيرة التي طالما رفدت السودان واطرافه بما جادات ارضها، و فتحت ذراعيها ملاذا للناجين النازحين من الخرطوم لتستقبل آلاف النازحين، ولكن في ١٨ ديسمبر سقطت مدينة ود مدني تحت سيطرة قوات الدعم السريع، مما أجبر أكثر من نصف مليون شخص على اللجوء. ولسوء الحظ، فإن ما كان يعتبر ذات يوم ملاذاً آمناً في السودان أصبح الآن مهدداً، مما قد يؤدي إلى ارتفاع عدد الضحايا المدنيين مع تزايد المخاوف من استمرار اعمال الابادة العرقية في دارفور وبقية المناطق. جميعها تحديات معقدة تجابه المواطن السوداني و الجهود الرامية لتقديم المساعدات الإنسانية. تم تصوير هذا الفلم في مدينة مدني وهو يسلط الضوء على مبادرة "متاريس"، مبادرة المسرحيين السودانيين لمقاومة سلطة الواقع ثقافيا عن طريق الدراما والمسرح، تطرقت لاسئلة الهوية والمواطنة والسلم الاجتماعي رغما عن القيود التي فرضتها الحرب. يؤسفنا أن نرى متاريس تفارق المدينة التي ولدت فيها وأفرادها يبدأون رحلة النزوح مرة ثانية. The April 15 war between the Armed Sudanese Forces and the Rapid Support Forces caused the death of more than 12,000 innocent people in Sudan and the displacement of more than six million citizens and forced them to leave their homes, which turned into military targets and arenas for looting and fighting. As the fifth anniversary of the glorious December Revolution passes, it is heavy on the chests of Sudanese citizens, in complete contradiction to its aspiring goals for dignity, calling for freedom, peace and justice. The war is worsening in its ninth month and its area is expanding day after day to threaten all Sudanese cities and countrysides. The city of Wad Madani, the capital of Al-Jazira State, has long provided support for Sudan and its outskirts, and opened its arms as a haven for displaced survivors from Khartoum to receive thousands of displaced people. However, on December 18, the city of Wad Madani fell under the control of the Rapid Support Forces, forcing more than half a million people to flee and seek refuge. Unfortunately, what was once considered a safe haven in Sudan is now under threat, which may lead to a rise in the number of civilian casualties as fears grow of continued acts of genocide in Darfur and the rest of the regions. All of the above are complex challenges facing the Sudanese citizens and efforts aimed at providing humanitarian aid. ‏This film was filmed in the city of Madani and highlights "Matarees” the “Barricades” initiative, an initiative by a Sudanese theatre group in which they attempt to address the identity dialogue in light of wars.
