Bonus session: El Salvador ‘Case Clinic’

This bonus session of the ISLe Learning Hub on Transforming Engineering Education centres on a real-world case study and takes the form of an interactive 'case clinic'. Participants were invited to engage directly with the presenters to discuss the case, troubleshoot challenges, and share insights drawn from across the ISLe series. The case study focuses on the UN Environment Programme (UNEP)'s project “Enhancing capacity for sustainable infrastructure planning and finance” in El Salvador. The initiative is led by UNEP in close coordination with national counterparts, with technical implementation support from the Grupo de Financiamiento Climático para Latinoamérica y el Caribe (GFLAC). This project aims to strengthen national capacity to integrate sustainability, resilience, and inclusiveness into public infrastructure planning and financing, while better aligning policy frameworks, institutional capacities, and public finance systems with national climate and sustainable development commitments. The session took place in both Spanish and English.
