The Nets gave Childs his first pro basketball shot in the NBA so the decision was not an easy one. He was averaging over 13 points and 8 assists per game. But at the end of the day it was a business decision and as always money talks. Not only did Childs thrive with the Knicks he ended up being with the team as it made its way to the NBA Championship that year – eventually losing out to the San Antonio Spurs. The next big leap for Chris was to leave the pressure cooker of New York and come to the city of Toronto which welcomed him with open arms.
