The Malaxa railcar is a nearly 100-year-old train that is still in active passenger service in Romania. In this video, we travel on the Malaxa S900 railcar — classified by CFR, the Romanian Railways, as a Class 77 train — from Pitești to Curtea de Argeș. This type of railcar was first built in 1935, with the last one leaving the Malaxa factory in Romania in 1942. Apart from our ride on the Malaxa S900 railcar, we also take a look at some other Malaxa trains — such as the S750 railcar and the S1000 DMU, both classified as Class 78 by CFR. In this video, we will also explore the historic town of Curtea de Argeș and its iconic monastery and cathedral, the burial place of members of the Romanian royal family.
