Transcript - What's the best option for you, for your tummy if you're unhappy with it? Liposuction or a tummy tuck? Let's just be clear of what each one does. Liposuction removes the fat from under the skin but doesn't remove any skin and in tummy tuck procedures some skin is removed and some fat as well and with a tummy tuck sometimes liposuction is performed as well. So there is some overlap in that liposuction can be performed with a tummy tuck but essentially liposuction is best if you have fatty deposits and you don't have too much excess skin. For someone who's got fatty tissue in their lower abdomen, doesn't have hanging skin, liposuction particularly vaser liposuction can be really really effective. And it will cause some skin tightening. If however when you sit down, you have an overhang perhaps over a ceasarean scar it's likely you've got excess skin and you will need some type of skin tightening procedure, either a mini tummy tuck or a full tummy tuck to tighten and remove that skin because liposuction alone won't treat the excess skin.
