Interview THERION (Christofer Johnsson) 1997 - No more tours! THERION Interview with Christofer Johnsson for WHAT'S METAL RADIOSHOW. Conducted by Markus Morrison at Hyde Park, Osnabrück, Germany. It was the "Theli" album and the move to Nuclear Blast Records that most profoundly changed things for Therion. Prior to that, they were a well respected underground death metal band, known for their mythological and occult lyrical content rather than growling about Satan and zombies. "Theli" pushed them into the spotlight and initiated a move into what nowadays probably falls under operatic rock and metal. At the time, it made sense to discuss mainly the aspects of making a living of the band and the complications associated with touring. The interview was done during the Out of the Dark III Festival tour, also featuring My Dying Bride (as headliners), Sentenced, Secret Discovery, Sundown and Dark. An edited version of this interview was aired on OS Radio 104.8 FM (osradio.de), including a number of THERION songs.
