This 8.1-mile walk along the England Coast Path is a journey shaped by shifting tides, coastal erosion, and expansive sea views, tracing a route between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis. Beginning at Littlehampton Train Station, my walk heads toward the footbridge crossing the River Arun before following its quiet banks down to West Beach. Here, the sandy expanse meets the open sea, where Climping’s rolling dunes provide a striking contrast to the encroaching erosion shaping the coastline ahead. Passing through Elmer, the towering sea defences, massive piles of rock stacked against the elements, stand as a man-made barrier against the tide’s persistent advance. As the high tide forces a brief detour through Middleton-on-Sea, the road leads to Sea Lane, reconnecting the path with the coast’s rhythmic pulse. The final stretch carries the walk through Felpham, where the promenade offers a steady, scenic passage toward Bognor Pier, a fitting conclusion to a route defined by the raw beauty and constant motion of the South Coast. This video was filmed in 4K on a GoPro Hero 11 and a DJI Mini 3 Drone, on a day in September 2024, that became progressively brighter and warmer.
