After months of scepticism following Jaguar’s relaunch, early verdicts on its electric GT suggest relief all round. Now we’ve driven it – albeit as a heavily camouflaged prototype in sub-zero Sweden. Despite being a year from production, engineers insist the chassis and powertrain are close to finished. Beneath the cladding lies a dramatic tri-motor EV with over 1,000hp, nearly 2,000lb ft of torque, a circa-120kWh battery and a claimed 400+ mile range.
