Mass Demolitions Begin on Accra–Winneba Highway Major Dualisation Underway. The Accra–Winneba Highway Dualisation Project is making significant progress as major demolition and clearing works begin along several sections of the corridor. In this video, we capture the latest developments on the Winneba–Accra stretch, where buildings are currently being demolished and large areas cleared to make way for the expansion of the highway or road. This important road project is expected to transform one of Ghana’s busiest transport corridors, improving connectivity between Accra, Winneba, and other parts of the Central Region. For many years, the highway has experienced heavy traffic congestion due to increasing vehicle volumes. The ongoing dualisation works aim to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and reduce travel time for commuters and commercial transport operators. In the section shown in this video, asphalt has not yet been laid, as construction activities are still focused on demolition, clearing, and preparation works. However, other sections of the project have already seen asphalt works begin, demonstrating the steady progress being made across the corridor.
