Mackinaw City to Munising

Come join us for our ride across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula! We took this trip back in July of 2025, and on July 14th we made our way from Mackinaw City to Munising. I’m editing this about seven months later, and while we absolutely appreciate every single follower who comes along for the ride, these videos are also our way of capturing the memories—and hopefully giving other like minded moto friends a real look at what these routes are like. I always want to know if a stop has paved parking, so you’ll see that in my videos. And yes, I show the mistakes too. We kicked things off with a ride over the Mackinac Bridge, and you can find that video on my channel. One thing I want to mention about riding the Great Lakes in the UP: you don’t actually see the lake very often while you’re moving. I’ll admit, I was a little disappointed at first. Most of the time, you really do have to pull into the overlooks to get those views. There are a few stretches where you can see the water from the bike, and I definitely highlight those more than the long straight roads through the trees. You’ll also notice I’m drawn to water, small towns, and old churches—they always make it into my videos. A few lessons learned from this trip: take better notes about the moments you want to remember. Take more still photos—you can always delete them later. Even with 3TB of video, there were lookouts where I was so in awe that I didn’t capture anything. Get more pictures with your travel partner—use the selfie stick or ask someone to snap one. And clean your camera lens every time you stop.
