For centuries, the canon of art history has celebrated the names of male masters while relegating their equally talented female counterparts to the margins. In this video, we'll take the time to uncover the stories of five iconic male artists and the five remarkable women whose contributions have too often been overshadowed or forgotten, unfortunately. We do this because art history is as much about the masterpieces as it is about the people who create them, their struggles, and the societies that shaped them. To understand the evolution of art, we must recognize the women who broke barriers, pioneered new techniques, and inspired generations, even as they faced systemic exclusion.
