Augusta Morrison traces the evolution of Sidewalk Detroit from an art-led festival into a community-centred organisation advancing spatial equity, environmental justice and neighbourhood revitalisation. She highlights how co-created art, cultural programming and long-term stewardship of Eliza Howell Park have driven infrastructure improvements, environmental action and renewed everyday use of public space. Featured in the third Re-Value Expert Exchange on Culture-Led Transformation, this presentation demonstrates how culture-based approaches, deep community engagement and lasting partnerships can move cities from temporary projects to community-led systems change. The Re-Value Expert Exchanges are online learning events organised by @icleieurope to inspire and build capacity as part of the EU-funded Re-Value project.
