Oil has risen 7% overnight to $108 a barrel after President Trump's White House address failed to provide a clear commitment to ending the Iran war. Markets had hoped for an off-ramp from the conflict, but the speech has unwound half of this week's gains. UK borrowing costs remain elevated at 4.3%, up from 3.5% before the war began.
