This simple but effective interior upgrade in the rear of my GU Patrol has completely changed how I pack my camping gear for trips. Just when I thought I was finished with all my 4WD upgrades—both inside and out—I realized the rear storage needed a serious redesign to make the space way more practical and usable for camping adventures. In this video, I’ll show you the changes I made, including a custom-made mesh shelf designed to hold larger camping items that used to be strapped down awkwardly on or in front of my camping boxes. Now, I can easily remove my camping boxes without having to unpack other gear first, making setup and pack-up much smoother and faster when I’m out camping. What You’ll See in This Video: The DIY process of building and installing the mesh shelf How this simple upgrade maximizes rear space in the GU Patrol Tips on organizing camping gear for quick access Before-and-after comparison of storage efficiency How this upgrade improves the overall camping experience Why This Matters: If you’ve ever struggled with packing and unpacking your 4WD gear on a trip, you’ll appreciate how small changes can make a huge difference.
