Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, our pelvic pain specialists provide a functional, rehab approach to pelvic pain. When you visit one of our offices, you spend an hour with your doctor reviewing in detail your medical history and symptoms. Then, we perform an internal exam (no speculum) to evaluate your nerves and muscles. Together, we'll discuss an individual treatment plan that gets to the root cause of your pain and helps you to feel better. The best part: you can begin treatment the same day! At PRM, our mission is to decrease the time patients are suffering from pelvic pain symptoms. It's your favorite nurse practitioner, Myesha Banks, here. I wanted to talk a bit about bowel endometriosis. If you are experiencing bleeding that is coming from the rectum when you're on your period, when you have a bowel movement, you see or wipe blood from the rectal area as if it was menstrual bleeding, you could potentially have bowel endometriosis. Other common symptoms include pressure in the rectum when you're on your cycle. Feeling as though something is stuck inside the rectum, uncomfortable sitting because of the pain or pressure in the rectal area. The urge to have a bowel movement constantly and then there's nothing there, or there's only mucus passing. So if you've noticed any of these symptoms, it's really important to talk to your healthcare provider, receive a diagnosis and proper therapy. Take care!
