This raid follows a previous operation conducted by the IT department on G-Square, a real estate company with alleged connections to the influential first-family of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Concurrently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has undertaken investigations into alleged corruption involving officials from TANGEDCO.
