Dexys Live In '85: "This Is What She's Like" (Slight Fade)

Last Monday was the thirty-sixth anniversary of the original release of Dexys Midnight Runners' third album, "Don't Stand Me Down" - and, to celebrate that milestone, we have a live performance of that album's key track, "This Is What She's Like". One of the troubles with a song clocking in at over twelve minutes is that, in the days of tape being the standard recording format, its limited length could easily result in the tape ending before a performance did. Sadly, this even caught out the mixing-desk engineer who recorded this live rendition of "This Is What She's Like" at Bristol's Colston Hall - though thankfully they managed to capture the vast majority of the performance. Clearly they must have regretted this oversight themselves as they made a point of recording the whole "Finale" section at a subsequent show... but that's one for another day!
