**SEEK FIRST the KINGDOM WITHIN—How GRACE Reorders Your Life | Joel S. Goldsmith Before any lesson, this message invites you into the sanctuary already established within you—the place where prayer becomes recognition, not pleading. Jesus never sent us searching in a “far country.” He revealed the truth that changes everything: “The kingdom of God is within you.” If this is true, then prayer is not informing God of your needs, nor persuading a distant deity to intervene. As the scripture says, “Your Father knoweth what things you have need of before ye ask him.” Therefore, the heart of prayer is yielding, listening, and awakening to what already is. This teaching opens in stillness: “Be still and know.” Here we softly acknowledge the secret of spiritual life—I and my Father are one, and the Christ is not coming from afar but shining as the very light of consciousness. From that standpoint, fear is not something to wrestle; it dissolves in the Presence where perfect love casts out fear. Lack is not something to “treat” as a problem; we remember the living law: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Discord in the body is not argued with; we return to the foundation: “In Him we live and move and have our being.” This is the surrender of personal sense—the laying down of human outlining—so that the Lord may be recognized as the builder, the doer, the life. Then the message unfolds the deepest meaning of Jesus’ command: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God.” The world has reduced this to moral effort—“try harder and be rewarded.” But the Master was revealing a law of being: do not begin with things, conditions, or appearances. Begin with cause, not effect. When you start the day with worry—health, rent, relationships, the future—you are “seeking second,” trying to manipulate life from the level of shadows. But when you turn within even for one minute and rest in the kingdom, you begin with divine consciousness. Then your actions in the world are taken from peace, not toward peace; from supply, not toward supply; from wholeness, not toward wholeness. That is the right order: Spirit first, appearance second. Consciousness first, circumstance second. In the spirit of Joel S. Goldsmith, this teaching is practical and uncompromising: it does not ask you to visit God for a few minutes and then spend the rest of the day bowing to appearances. “No man can serve two masters.” Seeking first becomes the atmosphere of your day—a gentle inward orientation, a holy pause before you accept sense testimony as authority. When a bill arrives, a symptom appears, or a harsh word is spoken, you learn not to react from panic, but to return to Presence and let right action arise from peace. You may not see dramatic “fireworks,” because Spirit often unfolds as quiet grace—timing, guidance, open doors you didn’t push, strength you didn’t manufacture. Yet the sign is unmistakable: you feel led rather than driven. The outer begins to conform to the inner because the throne has changed—appearance is dethroned, Presence is enthroned. And this is the promise: as consciousness rests in God, the “added things” come in their season—by divine unfoldment, not human strain. KEYWORDS (30) Joel S.
