This week we were visiting the little town of Jasper here in Newton county Arkansas. The Elk Festival is this weekend and we wanted to scope out the town before the celebration begins. This small town has a lot of heart and it's centered around community and tourism. There are rocking chairs all over town to encourage socializing with others and just plain stopping to smell the roses. Jasper is the nucleus of outdoor activities for the Buffalo National River and surrounding parks as well as a center for the reintroduction of elk in the Arkansas Ozarks, hence the yearly festival that draws lots of visitors for the celebration. I thought a simple drive around video could be of interest to ya'll who were curious about visiting for the festival or for a river trip.
