"We should remember to thank God for the cul-de-sacs he has led us out of." Exodus 14 1) What is the difference between an incident and a predicament? 2) Back up and read Exodus 13:17-18 & 21-22. The dead-end cul-de-sac Israel found themselves in was a situation they were led to, not one they got to by accident. How do you feel about God leading people to cul-de-sac experiences that seem to have a dead end at one end and blockage from an “enemy" (situation or person) at the other end? 3) How do you usually respond to negative cul-de-sac experiences? Do you do like the Israelites did (Get scared; Get an attitude; Blame someone/thing; Become know-it-alls; Forget where you have come from)? Moses' instructions were to be brave, stand firm, watch for God to show up, and expect a different future. Have you ever tried this approach to negative cul-de-sac experiences? 4) Is there, rather than a crisis cul-de-sac experience, a cul-de-sac of mediocrity or a bad habit cul-de-sac God may be trying to get you out of? Is there a step you can take to begin to move out that place?
