Review and Smoking a True Blue Cigarette, which ended up being a much more interesting smoke than not, especially since the brand is quite hard to find these days. True is a low tar cigarette brand that was introduced in 1966 by the Lorillard Tobacco Company with two varieties; this, the blue, unflavored variety, and a green, menthol variety, and from the get go, they contained a recessed filter, which is pretty neat if I do say so myself. Now, I will admit, I don't know if the brand ever actually became popular, and finding information on that isn't helped by the name, that is for sure, although I suppose SEO wasn't on their minds when they decided on the name. However, what I do know is that print advertisements for the brand tapered off significantly in the late 1970's, and so I figure that's probably when the theystarted losing popularity. These days, they are produced by RJ Reynolds, who acquired the brand in 2014 during their purchase of Lorillard, and it is by no means popular. It's actually quite a hard brand to find, and I've actually never seen them for sale in my area.
