Most toy grade RCs don't have an ESC/RX. Instead, it has a Printed Circuit Board, or PCB for short. Motors can usually get wet without any issues. Blow dry them with a can of compressed air, and you're set. However, if water finds its way to the PCB board, it could cause damage to the point where it will ruin the RC. By using Conformal Coating, you add a protective layer on the PCB where water will just bead off without causing any damage. Here, we go a little more in-depth as to how to go about coating the PCB to protect it. This "trick" also works on ANY electrical component. I've used it on everything from computers, handhelds, and now RC cars/boats. Just note: Don't coat connectors directly, as that will prevent a decent connection.
