There are very few words to describe the ethereal beauty of the Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple. With a well-built path leading up to the hillock from the shore and stairs leading straight to the temple itself, accessing Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple is rarely an issue. As it is built off the shore, the ebb and flow of ocean water flood the surroundings of the temple as well the path leading up to it. This is not really much of a hindrance, but rather adds to the beauty of it all. The temple of Bhakeshwar Mahadev is situated in the middle of the sea in Dwarka. Every year in the month of June-July this temple is immersed in the sea. It is said that at that time the sea itself performs Jalabhishek of Mahadev. You will be surprised to know that this temple is about 5000 years old and here Mahadev is enshrined in the form of Swayambhu Shivling. Mahashivaratri the biggest festival of the temple The biggest festival in this temple is celebrated on Mahashivratri. On this day a fair is organized in and around the temple. This temple is always open for the devotees. But from 8 in the morning till 12 in the afternoon only Shivling is anointed.
