This video wasn't made with the intention of bringing back bad memories or to stir up old controversies. This is to honor those who lost their lives that day, and in order to tell you about each and every one of these individuals, I have to provide the harsh details that played into this unfortunate event. May all the victims rest in peace. My condolences and respect go out to all the families affected. Jessica Rosenblum (not Rosenberg, that's a different person) was selling tickets at this event as a close associate of Puff daddy at the time. Some reports state she ran down into the gym with the money from ticket sales, closing the one open door behind her, while other reports say she was there but mention nothing about her closing the gym door. Other reports said she ran down with others while Puff stood back trying to sell more tickets. Many conflicting reports. This was left out to avoid problems since some people love throwing the word "defamation" around. Everyone involved in this event played a role, make no mistake. The following is from a January 16th 1992 article of the New York Times. Fatal Crush: Cause Still a Mystery "Sean Combs and Jessica Rosenblum were in the lobby area and concern was expressed over the need to secure the money at the ticket tables," the report said. "Ms. Rosenblum then proceeded to pick up the two cashier trays filled with money in her arms and walk down the stairs into the gym. Ms. Rosenblum was followed by one of Mr. Combs's guards and four of the women seated at the ticket tables." The report says that Mr. Combs and some of his assistants lingered a little longer in the lobby to take tickets. But within five minutes, Mr. Combs also slipped into the gym. No Guards Seen in Lobby. A key witness in the report, Benjamin Andrews, told Mr. Mollen that moments before the crush, which occurred at about 6:55 P.M., the ticket takers and guards were nowhere to be seen in the lobby or the stairwell. About 50 people were standing at the bottom of the stairs, waiting to be admitted. All the doors were closed". Jessica Rosenblum would also go on to deny any claims that she had involvement in the planning of the event, selling tickets or that she closed any door. She stated she only hired four women to collect money, and stated it was not her who closed the doors, nor was it the women she was with. She said this during her interview with Combat Jack in March of 2014. Following the three source rule of journalism, I chose to include the parts of this story that were 100% confirmed from many different sources and seen on video. On December 28th of 1991 evening News across the country would broadcast troubling footage, paired with news of events taking place at the City College of New York. A crowd upwards of 5,000 would attend a celebrity basketball game hosted by Sean Combs and Heavy D, but the end result was nothing but tragedy. Something not many speak of. Long before Travis Scott's Astroworld stampede in 2021 and long after The Who stampede of 1979, there was the City College Stampede.
