On a side note, I bowled the Jr. Pro-Am of this tournament when I was 16, and finished in 2nd place! Please be sure to stop by http://forums.mrbowling300.com to discuss this and other great bowling topics! $100,000 COLUMBIA 300 OPEN Sunnybrook Lanes, Sterling Heights, Mich., Oct 29-Nov 2, 1982 Webb Earns No. 14 Wayne Webb started the championship match with seven strikes to record a 266-215 victory over top-seeded Pete Weber for his 10th PBA title in the $100,000 Columbia 300 Open in Sterling Hts., Mich. Webb and Weber had split a pair of high-scoring match play contests leading to the TV finals, Weber winning the first one, 268-264, and Webb the second, 259-258. The 25-year-old Webb set up the rubber match by ousting Guppy Troup, 226-204, in the semifinal game as Troup sought to become the first player in 1982 to capture four titles. Webb's flurry of strikes put the final match out of reach as the 1980 Sporting News PBA Player of the Year threatened to roll a perfect game until leaving a 10-pin in the eighth frame. Along with the $13,000 top prize, Webb became the 24th player in PBA history to win as many as 10 titles. CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND Pos.
