These Gemara teachings focus on the Passover Seder. They feature an in-depth study of the Talmudic analysis of our Sages on key components of the Pesach Night rituals. _______________________ Tractate Pesachim, Perek Arvai-Pesachim, Page - 116a In this Episode, "DISGRACE AND GLORY DAYS" we complete our analysis of the Mishna studied over the past few Episodes. While we previously focused on the importance of questions asked at Seder, we now shift our attention to the syntax, style and order the relating the Exodus Narrative. Here we'll discover that although the overarching format of sacred inter-generational communication is universal, our Sages disagreed about how the details of how that could best be achieved. And while the dispute seems to revolve around the technicalities of where we begin the telling from, on a more profound level this differing schools of thought represent a deeper truth about how we view the purpose and very essence the Seder proceedings. Interestingly, there seems to be different opinions of what precisely the dispute is about and whether it was ever even resolved. We'll conclude with a final teaching that may serve to resolve the debate on disgrace. Alternatively, it might be contributing additional insight into questions value; be they an inherent part of the process or merely conventions facilitating engagement? This Episode of the Talmud on Pesach has been sponsored by Dr. Derek and Leanne Segall to commemorate the Yahrzeit of Leanne’s father - Henoch ben Aharon, OBM. It joins a growing collection of classes on Perek Arvia Pesachim, the 10th chapter of this unique Holiday Tractate, whose primary focus is Seder rituals and observances.
