I modified my Sawstop jobsite saw so I could build it into a larger workstation in my shop. I didn’t expect so many people to be interested in doing the same thing to their saws, and wanting to know the process. Here’s a rundown of how I upgraded my table saw fence in just a few hours. I do need to point out, though, that the process shown in this video is specifically for a Sawstop Jobsite Saw (JSS-MCA), using a Rousseau 2700FX fence, which is designed to lock on to a 1-½” tube. I don’t imagine it would be much different on another saw, but I can’t say for sure. **DISCLAIMER** Modifying a table saw’s fence system is NOT recommended by the manufacturer, or even me, for that matter. A well secured, well calibrated fence, running parallel to the blade is critical to safely operate the tool. Just because the process is simple, doesn’t mean that a costly mistake can’t be made. Before ever making a cut, test and verify that the fence is parallel, and will not flex or move. Always use a riving knife, eye protection, and a push block.
