A quick video about the speed of light, how it doesn't always apply to light and how other things like gravity, neutrinos and the Universe itself can 'outspeed' light sometimes. I actually uploaded this yesterday but got something a little wrong so took it down, corrected it and am putting it back up again. For number 3, I was talking about the cosmic horizon and the Observable Universe and it wasn't quite right and was a little confusing, sorry about that! It's hard to get these things into say 30s#bu seconds but accuracy is really important to me and should have done a better job. The Hubble Sphere is the correct term for galaxies moving away from us faster than light, the weird thing is the Hubble Sphere is within our own observable Universe, a lot of the galaxies we can see are moving away from us faster than light. This means if say an alien species is shining a big torch at us from this galaxy right now, we will never see it. We will always see them in the past and they will fade from our view over time as their wavelength is stretched, getting 'redder' and eventually undetectable.This is probably a subject for a longer video on its own as it's a real brain scramble trying to visualise things in the past while they're expanding, passing horizons but still being visible etc. Sorry I haven't uploaded in a while, I'm always working on the next video (and still am!) so I wanted to start making some shorter videos so that I could start posting them regularly. This is the first of them! I'll be posting these much more regularly as I continue to work on my main, big videos, I'm currently working and putting together three big videos at the moment. My passion is in the long videos so these shorts won't be replacing them but they don't take me anywhere near as long to make and it just makes me much happier being able to get regular content out to you.
