A community is banding together to help a local baby with a broken heart, literally. Aubrey Randolph is a 9-month-old Asheville baby who is like every other child her age, minus her rare Heterotaxy syndrome diagnosis. "She has had a really rough road," Jackie Bennison, Aubrey's mother, says. "She spent the first four weeks of her life in the hospital." Aubrey's father, Jonas Randolph, Jr. says his daughter's illness is an everyday struggle. "The challenges we face is just constant," Randolph says. "[We're] looking over her making sure everything's all right, making sure she's breathing, still moving." Aubrey is literally one in a million born with Heterotaxy syndrome. "All her organs are reversed,"Bennison says.
