Very quick-n-dirty proof-of-concept test using just the Init patch with AUM mapping cc2 to filter cutoff and cc5 to glide, and Eos2 for reverb. Cycled through the 4 filter models and tweaked resonance. Also experimented a bit with the additional HPF section. The only thing so far that I find a little bit disappointing is that there doesn’t appear to be a way to adjust the pitch bend range, which seems to be hard-coded to a full octave. I usually prefer just 2 semitones. I’ll contact the developer about that. (update! Jarek responded almost immediately that pitchbend range and expanded MIDI mapping options are planned for v1.1, due soon. Kudos to BeepStreet!) Much more exploring to do, but initial impressions are quite good. This is a reboot of a synth that BeepStreet first released eight years ago, and the audio engine in this one seems very good. No discernable zippering in the filters, and little to no aliaseing across the four octaves that I tested in. Very analog-sounding, and in particular the Steiner-Parker(Brute) filter seems to lend itself very well to re-creating many classic EWI sounds.
