Fuaim na Mara 1- Canna House & Chopin with Margaret Fay Shaw & Yvonne Lyon

This is the first video in the Fuaim na Mara series, a project worked on in collaboration with the National Library of Scotland's 2Scotlands Sounds" programme. The video depicts the interior of Canna House on the Isle of Canna, curated by the National Trust for Scotland. First you will see and hear Margaret Fay Shaw Campbell playing Chopin on her beloved Steinway. The recording is included in the Canna Sound Archive of over 1500 tracks of original recordings made from the 1930's onwards. The film then takes you to a modern reinterpretation of Margaret's playing by musician and artist Yvonne Lyon, on that same Steinway. These films form part of an exhibition housed in Canna Pier Waiting Room, launched April 2017.
