Modern manufacturing is transforming at speed, and TAFE Centres of Excellence are at the forefront of building the skilled workforce Australia needs. This session explores how TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (MCoE) is tackling critical skills gaps through strategic partnerships, innovative education models, and new delivery approaches. Hear from leaders across partnerships, education, operations, and community engagement as they share how TAFE is shaping the future of modern manufacturing. Sharon Robertson, CEO Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance (MISA) Jobs and Skills Council will provide an overview of the national manufacturing landscape and the capability challenges faced by the emerging modern manufacturing workforce. Helen Fremlin (Program Manager of TAFE NSW MCoE) will explain the role of TAFE NSW MCoE, and how it has been designed to address emerging industry needs. TCoE Senior Managers Dr Juliette Anich, Dr Mike Keppell, and Jon O’Neill will then provide insights into how these needs are being addressed through strategic partnerships, new pedagogies and industry-aligned learning experiences.
