I just got my pony boots today (1/20/2021) after being stuck in USPS purgatory stateside since Dec19th (they r slammed right now because of Covid) I thought I'd make an unboxing video incase there's anyone that's interested, or maybe just curious. ☺️ Wanted to give a Big thanks to @HorsekingEric (on twitter) for making these for me I love'em! 💜🙏🏻 #ponyplay #horseplay #unboxing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Info:Twitter: @pup_leo FA: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/koryleo/ Facebook: / leo.nardo.37604303 Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/5600997... Some put the boots on and run up and down the stairs after a minute, some need a bit longer. As with real horses, if they get horseshoes from a farrier for the first time… they also walk a bit strange until they are used to the shoeing! 😉 Regarding the angle of these boots… this is the lowest angle I can or want to provide. Made for max. comfort and a safe walking in them. If I make the angle steeper many ponies find it very uncomfortable to walk in them. Your own body weight would squeeze your toes into the boot tip, tendons get painfully stretched, calf muscle cramps after 15 minutes… maybe some woman with high-heel experiences or a ballerina can walk in such steep boots, but 90% of my client’s can´t. The angle of such hoof boots is always a compromise between human anatomy requests and a realistic look of horse hooves. They are not turning you into a quadruped ( yes, a real pity, I know 😊 ) and because you must walk upright your body axis should go straight into the centre of the hoof… for this the angle must be MUCH steeper, but then they are absolutely not comfortable and as long as you are not a ballerina - you must sit down after half an hour with sore legs, for sure! So I decide to move the body axis line a bit more back into the heel, what explains the extension / not natural horse hoof-like appearance of the heel section. And your wobbly stand comes from the studs I screwed-in into the horseshoes… with them attached you are ready to run in muddy terrain! At them moment you stand on 6 pencil tips per hoof, so to say! But the studs are threaded, you can remove them all with an adjustable wrench! Then you stand with full contact and much more stable on a hard & smooth surface. Maybe a good idea if you want to use them mainly indoor... you ordered the outdoor version with spikes, for walking on rough blacktop and soft soil! Another pony told me he removed the studs and put an self-adhesive anti-slip tape under the horsehoes... to protect the floors indoor and also to avoid slipping there on the smooth surfaces... blank steel shoeing is slippery on smooth surfaces, some horses prefer my hard rubber horseshoes for this reason. However you decide, with or without studs... have fun with them and stay safe!
