This is the continuation of the exploration of the Spine of Albion, discovered by Guy Ragland Phillips and researched by Gary Biltcliffe and Caroline Hoare, into Scotland. This stretch is intertwined with the story of Merlin (which we find was a title of more than one individual) a bard who was involved in the Battle of Arthuret, fought between a Christian king of the Britons and a pagan Scottish king. Feeling responsible for the deaths of 80,000 men he fled into remote Eskdale until he received absolution from St. Kentigern. Shortly afterwards he died a very gruesome death and was buried near the River Tweed. The serpentine earth currents called Belinus and Elen, curving round Guy Ragland Phillips' alignment, make their way through the powerful places of this poignant area.
