YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO DO LIFE ALONE Pastor James Green September 11, 2022 [Acts 2;42-47 NIV] “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” [Gen. 2:18 NIV] “The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone.” WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DO LIFE ALONE? • We can easily lose our perspective on what life is all about. • We tend to fear intimacy. • We find ourselves becoming selfish. • We create a greater risk of sickness and poor health. WE WERE CREATED FOR MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS [John 17:11 NIV] “I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.” [John 17:20-21 NIV] “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” Our behavior and the world’s belief are connected. [John 13:34-35 NIV] “A new command I give you: Love one another.
