With this Rugged Ridge Hurricane Fender Flare Kit, you benefit from having flat fenders. They allow for additional travel from your wheels, if you're off-roading with your sway bars disconnected. While contact between the fender flare and tire won't affect performance, you might not like the sound, and it will put wear and tear on the flare. Also, flat fender flares open up the wheel well, so it looks like you have more of a lift than you already do. Also improving aesthetics are small pockets on the flares, with some rivets to add industrial styling. If your Jeep is a 1997 to 2006 Wrangler TJ, this fender flare kit will fit correctly. Tough Construction. These fender flares are made of a durable injection-molded thermoplastic, so they can take some impacts, and won't transfer energy from a hit to the body panels, causing more expensive repairs. Because the material has been UV treated, it won't fade or crack from sitting in the sun, unlike the factory flares. While the exposed rivets aren't functional, corrosion resistant hardware is included in the kit. New marker lights are included, and they reuse the factory socket. Easy Setup. While this is a simple job, you will need to spend about 3 hours on it. You have to remove the turn signals lights from their housings, then remove the hardware that's holding the stock fender flares in place.
