He is an actor and executive, known for The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961), Soap (1977) and The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited (2004) After the series ended in 1966, Larry Mathews left acting to pursue a more conventional childhood and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1976. Larry owns the desk that was used as a prop by Carl Reiner on The Dick Van Dyke Show. He had a private tutor while filming of The Dick Van Dyke Show was in progress, even skipped a grade, then returned to a conventional classroom once filming had wrapped for the season. He sang the song "Little Drummer Boy" on the Dec. 18, 1963 "Dick Van Dyke Show" Christmas episode, "The Alan Brady Show Presents.".
